Here are the top reasons I broke up with my exes:

1. Drug/Alcohol Abuse: In high school and in college, let’s just say I was a free flowing party kind of girl. When you become a parent and need to start being an adult though drugs are out of the question. Drugs and alcohol change people. The guy I started dating who started doing drugs was not the same person I broke up with. I didn’t know then what I know now about alcoholism and drug abuse, but I think it was a good decision to end the relationship because of it.

2. Lying: I don’t have any tolerance for lying in a relationship. How can you love someone if it’s all based on lies? When I found myself being lied to more than being told the truth, I knew the relationship had no future and it was time to break-up.

3. Cheating: This is one that I can understand partly on how it happens. It shouldn’t happen, but it some cases it can be forgivable. But for me it is forgivable ONLY if the person doesn’t use it in conjunction with break-up reason #2 listed above. Lying about cheating to me is worse than cheating itself. 4. Stealing: When someone you are dating is on drugs, lying, and cheating, it’s not surprising that before long they also start stealing from you. (Can you tell I’ve dated some real winners in my past?)

5. Inability to Communicate: It’s really hard to have a relationship with someone you can’t talk to. Usually when things were going well you could talk about things like movies or food, but the minute things weren’t going well, talking and listening through became mission impossible. Some people can work through this, but with one particular person, breaking up was the only thing I could do.

6. Obsessive/Possessive: I’m the kind of person who needs space. When a guy is constantly calling me to see what I’m doing and where I’m going and why I can’t stand it. A few guys who did this didn’t even make it to the dating phase for me to properly break up with them!

So there you have it, all the reasons I’ve ever broken up with every ex I dated. I think I’ve had some pretty solid reasons to break up with my exes.
