Market Yourself to Your Partner with Promotional Gifts

Business, marketing and promotional gifts might not really sound like an opportunity for romance, but while thinking of some various promotional gifts I could use for our business, I also got to thinking about how they could also be used in a wide variety ways romantically as well. Marketing doesn’t have to be just for companies and business – you could market yourself to your partner or potential dates as well!

First, since this is a relationship blog and not a business one I should probably explain exactly what promotional gifts are. Basically they are typically the things companies hand out to you to remind you of them – things like calendars, notepads, pens, Frisbees, mugs, etc.

They are completely customized with names, phone numbers, and logos, which is what makes them such a great medium for romantic gifts. You can personalize anything from golf balls to coasters to even games and puzzles. You could write a special message or important date or something you’re partner would get use out of but also reminds them of you on a regular basis. If they work in an office it’s even better since you could also personalize office necessities such as paper clip holders, notepads or even conference folders. If you’re not married yet, it may even be a unique way to propose!

It could also be an interesting experiment for singles to try out when meeting people. Imagine if you gave out promotional umbrellas or pens that had your name and contact number on them? I don’t know if it would actually work or is the best of ideas (what if they tried calling you three years later because they still had the umbrella you gave them?) but it certainly wins points for being creative and would be one heck of a “how we met” story!

Have you ever tried marketing or promotional techniques as a way to be romantic? How about for meeting singles? Share your thoughts and ideas in the comments below.
