There’s Never a Bad Time to Share Flowers

Today was “Share Day” in kindergarten for my son. It was his turn to bring something in and share it with the class. While we were taking our sunflowers down from the garden the other night he decided one of our sunflowers is what he wanted to take to share with everyone in his class. So I sent him in to school with one sunflower, a bag of seeds the kids could look at, and little seed packets from the garden the kids from his class could take home so they could plant their own sunflowers next year.

The more I thought about it, I realized what a very appropriate thing for “share day” – flowers are one of the best things you can share with just about anybody. Thinking back on the times I’ve received flowers, I know that all of them always brightened up my day instantly. I can still remember each time I received flowers and what a surprise and thoughtful gesture it seemed to be.

Flowers are really wonderful things to give to someone. They can be used for just about any occasion – happy or sad. I can’t think of anything else that could possibly be more universally accepted for any occasion or situation than flowers. You can send birthday flowers, anniversary flowers, congratulations flowers, holiday flowers, thank you and appreciation flowers, get well flowers, apology flowers. and even no-reason-at-all flowers. We use wedding flowers to celebrate two people getting married and there love for one another. And in sad times, we can share consolation and empathy with sympathy flowers.

If you haven’t given someone flowers in awhile, maybe it’s time you should.  There really is never a bad time to send flowers. You’ll feel good for giving them, and they’ll feel just as good about getting them!

  1. Nice helianthus Chelle. When my mother was running a kindergarten,I paid a visit to it at every turn.Sometimes I help to take care of them. It’s a pitty that I can’t submit my picture here. But I would like to share my first attempt of making sushi and Chiese Cuisine.
    Have a nice day!

  2. Flower are indeed cool gift to give. Think about it though, the warm and fuzzies last only a little while. Someone else grew the flowers, and some lady in a flower shop arranged them for you and then overcharged you.

I like to give my sweetie gifts that have some deeper meaning behind them. I’ll listen for hints or a non-conscious verbal que, of things she likes, and try to build a gift around that. It’s so much cooler to make a personalized piece of art, show up with tickets to a show she wants to see, cook a great meal of her favorite food, or even grow something yourself and give it to her. Just my humble opinion

  3. You are right about flowers being a great way to express a thought or brighten someone’s day. I have to work on bringing them home just because, though. My SO might be starting to associate getting flowers with me messing up. :)

  10. Yes! Flowers are amazing. For all of us God lovers and believers, I think that flowers were a lovely creation that appeals greatly to our sense of sight, smell, and feel. All of the wonderful varieties, you can be sure to find one to express your every emotion towards any particular occasion.
I like to take flowers when visiting a close friends’ house when invited for dinner or a get together. It’s a neat gift they will enjoy and also shows thanks for their invitation ( or dinner/party).
