Keyword Luv & Other Blogging Goodies

I learned about a neat little wordpress plug-in called Keyword Luv today.

Basically, when you leave a comment you fill out for your name like this: yourname@keywordphrase (So I would leave my name as Chelle@Date Ideas for example). It then displays your name with a do-follow link with your keyword anchor text.

Combine Keyword Luv with Comment Luv, Do-Follow, and Sez Who & a PR2 - You should really think about leaving me some comments!!…Why be shy when it can only help you? I’ve also activated it on Best of Stupid and my real estate marketing blog if you’d like to hit me up there as well for some commenting.

I don’t really have a comment policy, all I ask is that it not be copy & pasted, spam, and IN ENGLISH. (I don’t speak the ghfsvdbn fhgfds lhkh language that Askimet thankfully understands!)

I was also checking out some new blogs today when I came across Blogging Sueblimely who introduced me to the Aussie Blogger’s Lazy Blog Post Generator.

It’s just what I needed today, since things have been getting busier and busier. Here’s what it generated for me to write for you all today:

Crikey! I just had a cup of tea and realised I have not updated this since they let me out!… You would not believe that I’d been abducted by aliens. Apologies to my regular readers! Even the little blue ones!.

I am lost in a sea of pseudo-olde-english with responding to fanmail, being distracted by the shiny, just generally being the life of the party to society in general, my day is filled with fluorescent light from the second I am woken by murderous Teletubbies to I feel like going to bed. I am not complaining though. it will be fun fun fun till they take my TBird away.

I promise that I will write something that makes sense soon. You wanna test me? Cats if you don’t..

It might not have any value as a blog post, but it’s always fun to have a diversion from time to time, and these two finds today definitely made it possible to bring you a quick little post!

    Hi Chelle
I am pleased you found me and gave me a mention here too :-)
I use the same comment plugins as you. KeywordLuv has been useful. I am not sure about SezWho yet.

  4. avatar Chelle Says:

Yep Tiffanie, you did it right!
You’re welcome for the mention Sueblimey - the automatic post generator really helped me out!

  7. avatar Phil from Armed Forces Belt Buckles Says:

    Chelle,

This is a great plugin. I used to never comment on blogs. Always wanted to but always felt guilty because I had so many other tasks to do. Now with this plugin I can surf around, comment a little, and still feel like I’m getting something done. Getting backlinks.

Thanks so much for being a part of the I follow movement.

    Phil

  8. avatar Chelle Says:

    You’re welcome Phil :)
I appreciate the genuine comments too :)

It does help to go for sites that are related to get the most benefit, but it’s a nice way to show some appreciation to those who contribute to a discussion :)

Sweet pluggin Chelle, I’ll be implementing it today. So if I simply update my blog to Wordpress 2.5, it should have it?

  10. avatar Chelle Says:

Hi Adam, you’ll have to download the plug-in and & install it like any other plug-in. You can search for it on google or just follow the link at the end of the comments that says something along the lines of “this site uses keyword luv”…It does work with 2.6 since that is what I am using currently :)

I think Keyword Luv is a great plugin for anyone who wants comments but complains about getting “spam” from good commentors who only want to get a good link. i wish more people knew about this plugin.

  12. avatar bleuken from Kabonfootprint Says:

Isn’t KWL great? What I like best about it is that the people who run it obviously know about the importance of linking and that someone can make a good comment even if they are using a keyword. Bravo for installing it!

I agree with Olly…. ultimately I think plugins and features like commentluv and keywordluv will ultimately build a blog and attract more readers.

  16. avatar Monica from ISA Says:

Thanks for sharing - I think comment and keywordluv are great for bloggers and commenters and bloggers alike - I find now (and I have with this blog) that you can search on Google for your term + commentluv and it will pull up blogs with this feature active so it makes it even easier for us.Great for savings too.

Oh boy I have a lot to learn! I didn’t even know what NO FOLLOW was until recently. Is it ok to also comment if you don’t have a blog - but just a website?

  20. avatar Free Loader | UK Freebies Says:

Great plug-in thanks. But im still not sure i understand the benefit, because instead of leaving your name you could just use your site like this with the link in the keyword.

Can someone explain the benefit of having both?

  28. avatar Art from National Wheels Says:

Nice blog with a great Keyword Luv plug-in. I installed the same plug-in on my wheel blog and it really helps to get people involved in participating in the blog but the downside is that I get a lot of one word comments and spam comments but what can you do! Anyways, giving some interesting comments and participating in various blogs can be fun!

  30. avatar Jason from hypoteque Says:

The plug-in works great, because I noticed that I get a lot of comments on my blogs. Though, I often get disappointed to those who leave their comments without even reading the content. I do allow this plug-ins in my site, but I don’t like spammers.

  31. avatar John from Chicago Beds Says:

Keywordluv is a great way to help bring new visitors to your blog. They should also be encouraged to contribute something relevant to the conversation by being rewarded with a valuable backlink.
