I never know what my husband will say when I ask him what I should write about on It Might Be Love.

Today I will share his wisdom with all of you:

Love is when your husband makes you a salami sandwich for a night time snack without you having to ask.

I will admit when my hubby went to the kitchen for his usual bedtime snack the other night and brought me a sandwich too, I thought how sweet and romantic that was, since I didn’t even ask for a sandwich or say that I was hungry. I don’t really think sandwiches would go in the list of things that make marriages work, but I do think it’s the small random act of kindness that is important to apply in our relationships.

It’s those little things that make a relationship special. It’s not diamonds or mushy cards, but just the simple act of thinking ahead of someone else’s needs before your own.

What are some little things you could do today for your partner? Could you get them their favorite drink for dinner? Put a new bar of soap in the shower? Turn on their favorite show on the TV? Leave a little love note somewhere for them to find? It doesn’t matter what it is, these little things add up into bringing you closer together. And maybe, just maybe, love is all about salami sandwiches.
