We came back from vacation this week and at the suggestion of Jeremy at Hawaiin Life I’m writing about the “highs, the lows, and my thoughts after the experience.”
I am the first person to admit I’m attached to my laptop. I LOVE this laptop almost as much as I love my children and husband. I don’t know why, maybe part of it is my inner geeky self, maybe it is the cool things I can do with it and the people I meet…but whatever it is just know that my laptop and I have somewhat of an inseparable bond between each other.
Going a week without a computer for some seems like insanity. I thought there would be some withdrawal symptoms as there is with any addiction or habit you try to break. But surprisingly, there wasn’t. I was too busy enjoying this:
And this:
There were a few times while everyone was sleeping I thought having my computer would be nice and of course I was very curious to see what kind of traffic my sites were getting. For the most part though I was busy enjoying everything we did. If these pictures look a little “foggy” it’s because we were also stuck in 104 degree heat for most of the trip! Man is that hot! Especially when we left it was only 70 degrees!
I was glad when we came home and I could sit down to my computer again, but for the most part being without a computer for a week was not that bad. I would do it again in a heartbeat. It’s wonderful to go out and experience life and see some great things and enjoy the company of the people you love.

I just can’t go without checking my e-mails atleast once in a day. If I didn’t check in the morning I’ll find one way or another to check them before bed time !
Glad you enjoyed your vacation !

I’ll be going on Vacation in a week. I’ll have to break the ties to my pc too. Nothing like the sights like above to help with that.

I hear ya, sister. Even on a trip to Paris, I brought my laptop and stopped at Internet cafes periodically. I was sending pictures and stories about our trip back home. Couldn’t help it. I’m an addict and freely admit it!
I probably would have got my hands on a computer even more, had I been blogging at that time. My laptop is practically an appendage now.
I was without Internet access for a whole weekend once last year. I have to admit it was nice to unplug and do more outdoorsy things than I typically do. The trick is to unplug voluntarily now and then!
You’re back huh? Maybe you could change the name of the blog to something catchy like “Welcome Back Chelle…” In fact, maybe everybody should!

It was great…and nice to be back! I think everybody should try it just for a little while!
Wow, I am a brand spanking new blogger, and to my knowledge this is the very first time someone has made a post on theirr blog in response to something I said. I’m kind of blown away right now.
I will have to say, the interactions that come with blogging are what has brought me the most enjoyment so far, and this was really cool to see. Thanks for giving a crap enough to get back to me, and for letting us all know how you fared without a computer for an entire week!
