I stumbled across this article today where the author Karen Card compares men to waffles and women to spaghetti. I thought this was a very unique and unusual comparison and would share it here to see if you agree with her viewpoints on this theory.
To illustrate how a man thinks, she wrote:
“A waffle has many squares, each divided by walls high enough to hold syrup. This is an example of a man’s brain. Each waffle square is a thought or idea. In order for a man to change from one idea to the next, he needs to get out of the square he is in and climb over the wall to get into the next idea.”
She then compared women to spaghetti:
Each spaghetti noodle is one thought or idea. However, each thought (noodle) is touching about seven other thoughts (noodles) at the same time.
The point of her article was not make us hungry but to explain how it is necessary to remember these different ways of thinking when communicating with each other.
Since it takes time for men to move from one “waffle square” to another, we need to be more patient in their responses and be understanding that they cannot quickly shift focus to another topic. Since women’s ideas are constantly touching each other, we need to be more understanding that she doesn’t mean to rattle off everything at once, she just can’t help it.
I found it to be a very interesting and unique comparison. It is very interesting to think about the differences between men and women. What do you think? Are men like waffles and women like spaghetti?

Men are meatheads and women nuts.

I know I’ve been called nuts more than a few times
I think generally speaking this might be true. But I know my husband can think of a million things at once. His mind works MUCH faster than mine. Honestly, I spend a lot of time playing ‘keep up’.
