10 Things I Love About Being a Mom

In honor of Mother’s Day, I am going to share with you all a poem I wrote for Associated Content called “Momisms: The Things Mom Say“. I know my mom said plenty of these things and now that I’m a mom I too of course am guilty of using many of these mom phrases!

I also thought today I woud share the 10 Things I Love About Being a Mom:

1. I have an excuse for showing up late, having stains on my clothes, leaving places I don’t want to be early, and of course writing in crayon.

2. I can always get a hug or a kiss anytime I want.

3. I get the best presents of hand drawn cards and dandelions picked out of the backyard.

4. After a long day tucking my little ones in and watching them sleep

5. Reading fantastic stories such as “If You Give a Mouse a Cookie” and “Guess How Much I Love You”.

6. Snuggling up with the kids watching a good movie or cartoons.

7. The opportunity to learn a second language including words like Boppy, lellow (yellow), binkie, bubba, gamote and pizza hunt.

8. Watching my kids play and laugh and having fun.

9. I now drive a mini-van which has got to be the best car I ever drove - that’s a whole other post in itself!

10. I’m never lonely - I can’t even take a shower or go to the bathroom without some company!

Happy Mother’s Day to all you moms out there!
