Today I was re-reading a wonderful book called “The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success” by Deepak Chopra. One of the laws he speaks of is the law of giving. In the book he gives several examples on things you can give someone as giving does not have to be done in the form of a check to a charitable organization or a present to someone. Giving can be done without a lot of effort, but it can make a very large impact not only on our own lives, but of course others as well.
Here are some “gifts” that can be given for free:
A smile
A kiss
A hug
A backrub
A prayer
A listening ear
A shoulder to cry on
A note of encouragement
A note of appreciation
A flower - can be a dandelion even!
A laugh
An hour of your time
An unused item in your home
A poem
A song
A happy memory
Something that was previously given to you before
These are things that cost nothing. They require little effort. And they are things we can give to every person we meet every single day.
If you haven’t read this book, I sincerely reccommend it - for $5 you will not read anything else with the same potential to change your life for the better.
